General Assembly Plenary
Technology-Based Development in Rural Areas
International Development is a key focus in the United Nations, but we aim to address a unique issue. As urbanization grows and development resources flow from the developed to developing world, rural areas in developing countries are increasingly marginalized. These communities face a choice: migrate to urban areas or struggle with limited resources, hoping for trickle-down benefits.
In this committee, we seek solutions to bridge the urban-rural economic divide, with a focus on using technology in development. Delegates should propose creative, feasible solutions to address the challenges and present them to the General Assembly Plenary. This is a multilateral issue that demands diverse approaches—come prepared to engage and debate!
