Letter from the Secretariat
Dear delegates, faculty advisors, and esteemed partners and guests,
As the Secretary-General and the Deputy Secretary-General of TCGSMUN XIII, it is our utmost honor to welcome you to this year’s conference.
In today’s world, even more challenges are thrown our way. Due to various issues such as inflation, the economy of the world is unstable. This challenges both citizens and industries. Armed regional conflicts have intensified, infringing on humanitarian rights. Free speech is threatened as some governments crack down on information-sharing. On top of that, climate change has made its presence felt. Natural disasters are becoming more severe and frequent.
As these problems are popping up one by one, we urge everyone to draw their attention to the real tragedy: those lives put under unfair treatment, dangerous environments, and those lost. Unfortunately, even though attempts have been made to alleviate the situation, actions often fall short of expectations. If we wish to improve these problems, perseverance will be even more crucial than ever before.
Since its establishment thirteen years ago, TCGSMUN Conference has consistently organized Model United Nations activities of academic excellence, providing a platform for multifaceted discussions and idea exchanging amongst representatives from diverse backgrounds. Similarly, this year, we are confident in our ability to deliver conferences of high quality to representatives and all participants, facilitating deeper contemplation and comprehension of international issues.
We hope to see that TCGSMUN XIII will inspire participants in both their contemplation of international issues, and are incredibly excited to welcome you all to Taichung in April!
Warmest Regards,
Laurine Kuo (Secretary-General), Rebecca Lo (Deputy Secretary-General)
